A strange descending light was caught in two pictures by Curiosity rover. The bizarre activity reportedly happened on June 23, but according to information about the raw Jet Propulsion Laboratory images, it was on June 20.
Two confirmed photos taken by the Curiosity rover have brought excitement to UFO enthusiasts. The Curiosity is a robotic rover about the size of a car, exploring Gale Crater on Mars. The two pictures show a strange looking light that was allegedly moving towards Mars on June 20.
The first Jet Propulsion Laboratory image, which was taken by the rover’s Navcam Right camera, shows a bright light above some mountains. Thirty seconds later, another image of the light appearing closer to the Mountain surface was taken by the rover’s Navcam Left camera.
The pictures are very real and both of them seem to show evidence of a UFO that was about to land near the Curiosity rover. However, the team leader of the building and operation of Curiosity’s navigation camera Justin Maki has another explanation. He said that the anomaly in the two pictures is a hot pixel that has been around since they started utilizing the Right Navcam.
As describe in photography, hot pixels take place when sensor of the camera becomes hot during long exposures.
Curiosity camera has known to catch images of something bright in the distance from Red Planet in the past too. The rover captured an odd-looking light shining very brightly on the Mar’s surface on April 3.
Maki said in a NASA statement that bright spots are common in the images they received from Curiosity, nearly every week. He explained that the most-likely explanations of these phenomena are cosmic-ray hits or sunlight glinting from rock surfaces.
Reports about UFO activities continue to get worldwide attention. On May 20, Chinese villagers reported three circular, metallic objects that crash landed in their area with the wreckage still considered to be a mystery. After the incident, the villagers reported seeing more UFOs in the sky.
